Kitchen Wall Panels
Wall panels work well in a kitchen when they are used in the right places: the walls away from the cooking zone, the dining side, the breakfast counter and the utility area. Keep every panel away from the hob and direct flame.
Where wall panels belong in a kitchen
Think of the kitchen in three zones: the cooking zone around the hob, the wet zone around the sink, and the dry zone everywhere else.
Panels suit the dry zone and, with a waterproof material, the wet zone. The cooking zone is different. We make no heat-resistance or fire-rating claims for any panel, so keep panels away from the hob and direct flame, and use tiles, stone, glass or steel on the wall directly behind the burners.
That still leaves most of the kitchen: the wall above a breakfast counter, the dining wall of an open kitchen, the front of an island, the tall wall beside the fridge and the utility area.
Which wall panel is best for a kitchen?
Smooth, wipeable and waterproof materials come first.
ACP sheets
From ₹75 per sq ft. Waterproof and termite-proof, with a flat, smooth face that wipes down quickly. A practical choice for kitchen walls away from the hob and for the utility area.
PVC panels
From ₹99 per sq ft. Waterproof and termite-proof, in plain, marble-look and wood-look designs. Good for the sink-side wall, the dry walls and the wash area.
WPC fluted panels
From ₹99 per sq ft. Waterproof and termite-proof. Use the fluted texture on an island front, a breakfast counter or the dining wall, where there is less oil in the air.
Charcoal panels
From ₹200 per sq ft. Waterproof and termite-proof, with richer textures for the dining side of an open kitchen.
UV marble sheets
₹9,999 per 8 x 4 ft sheet. A glossy marble look in large sheets for a dining nook or a feature wall in the dry zone.
What to keep out
Rattan cane, Softiq and acoustic PET panels are harder to wipe clean of oil. Keep them for dry rooms, not the kitchen.

Hob, sink, cleaning and fitting in a kitchen
Six rules that keep kitchen panels looking good.
Keep panels away from the hob
Do not fix panels behind or beside the burners. Use tiles, stone, glass or steel there and start the panels where the cooking zone ends. The same goes for any open flame.
Near the sink
Use only waterproof panels near the sink: ACP, PVC, WPC or charcoal. Seal the line where the panel meets the countertop with silicone so water cannot run behind.
Smooth beats textured
Oil settles in grooves. Choose flat, smooth panels for walls close to cooking and save fluted textures for the island, counter and dining side.
Cleaning oil marks
Wipe splashes the same day with a soft cloth, warm water and mild dish soap. Avoid steel scrubbers and harsh chemicals, which scratch and dull decorative surfaces.
Fixing over tiles
Panels can go over existing kitchen tiles that are firmly bonded and flat. Degrease the tiles thoroughly first. Adhesive will not hold on an oily surface.
Cabinets and sockets
Fit panels after the cabinets are set out, and mark every socket and appliance point before cutting. A chimney duct and gas line need clear access.
Common mistakes in a kitchen
Almost all of them are about location.

Kitchen wall panels, answered
Is PVC wall panel good for a kitchen?
Yes, on the right walls. PVC panels are waterproof and termite-proof and start from ₹99 per sq ft, so they suit the sink side, dry walls and the utility area. Keep them away from the hob and direct flame, and use tiles, stone or glass behind the burners.
Is WPC good for a kitchen?
Yes. WPC panels are waterproof and termite-proof, from ₹99 per sq ft. The fluted texture is best on an island front, breakfast counter or dining wall, where less oil settles. As with every panel, keep WPC away from the hob and direct flame.
Can wall panels go behind the gas stove or hob?
No. We make no heat-resistance or fire-rating claims for any panel, so keep panels away from the hob and direct flame. Use tiles, stone, glass or steel on the wall behind the burners, and start the panels where the cooking zone ends.
How to install wall panels in a kitchen?
Fit panels after the cabinets are set out. The wall should be dry, flat and degreased. Panels are fixed with adhesive or clips, with silicone along the countertop line. Installation is available in major cities; elsewhere your carpenter or contractor can fit them.
Which wall cladding is best for a kitchen?
For kitchen wall cladding choose smooth, waterproof materials. ACP from ₹75 per sq ft and PVC from ₹99 per sq ft are the most practical because they wipe clean easily. Use them on walls away from the hob, and keep textured panels for the dining side.
Is a PVC ceiling good for a kitchen?
PVC ceiling panels are a common choice for kitchens and utility areas because PVC is waterproof and easy to wipe. Keep the ceiling well clear of the hob and use a chimney. See our PVC ceiling panels page for designs and prices.
How to clean oil off kitchen wall panels?
Wipe the panel with a soft cloth dipped in warm water and mild dish soap, then dry it. Clean splashes the same day so they do not harden. Do not use steel scrubbers or harsh chemicals. Smooth panels such as ACP are the quickest to clean.
What is the kitchen wall panel price?
ACP starts from ₹75 per sq ft and PVC and WPC from ₹99 per sq ft, for material only. Charcoal panels start from ₹200 per sq ft and UV marble sheets are ₹9,999 per 8 x 4 ft sheet. Trims, adhesive and fitting are extra.
