## Choosing the right panel

- Best for bathrooms and wet areas: Clvin PVC (100% waterproof PVC, from Rs 99/sq ft). Tiles remain better inside the shower where water jets hit directly.
- Best for living rooms and bedrooms: Wudonn fluted WPC (wood-slat feature walls, from Rs 120/sq ft).
- Best for exteriors and facades: ACP aluminium composite sheets (weatherproof, UV-stable, from Rs 75/sq ft), plus ACP louvers for fluted facades.
- Cheapest finished waterproof wall: ACP from Rs 75 or Clvin PVC from Rs 99/sq ft - less than tiling once labour is counted.
- Most premium look: backlit alabaster and UV marble sheets (from ₹9,999/sheet) for receptions, lobbies and vanities.

## PVC vs WPC

- PVC (Clvin) is 100% polyvinyl chloride, no wood content, lighter, the most moisture-resistant option, from Rs 99/sq ft. Best for bathrooms, kitchens, utility and wet areas.
- WPC (Wudonn) is a wood-plastic composite, denser and more rigid, reads closer to real timber, from Rs 120/sq ft. Best for living-room and bedroom feature walls, TV and headboard walls, offices.
- Both are waterproof and termite-proof to the core. PVC is cheaper; WPC holds fixings better and gives the warm wood-slat look. Many homes use both.

## ACP sheet price, 2026

- ACP sheets start at Rs 75/sq ft. The rate depends on grade, thickness, coating and finish.
- Grades: Ruby (3 mm, 0.25 mm skins, entry / interior and signage), Pearl (4 mm, 0.25 mm), Platinum (4 mm, 0.50 mm, the facade standard), and FR fire-retardant (EN 13501 Class B-s1,d0, SGS tested) which costs more.
- Coating is PVDF lacquer, 25 micron front, service-coated rear. Solid finishes are the base rate; metallic, Corten and mirror finishes carry a premium.
- Standard sizes 1220 x 2440, 3050 and 3660 mm; custom width to 1550 mm and thickness to 6 mm. Up to 10-year warranty.
- Rates move with aluminium coil prices, so Urbane Decor quotes against the actual drawing rather than publishing a fixed card. ACP louvers are available in the same 100-plus finishes.

## Troubleshooting wall panels

- Guide: /wall-panel-problems - the eight problems people actually hit (gaps opening, edges peeling, panels coming loose, musty smell or mould behind panels, misalignment, scratches, apparent fading, water behind bathroom panels), each with cause and fix.
- Key principle: WPC, Clvin PVC, charcoal and ACP are waterproof and termite-proof through the core and do not rot, swell or feed mould - so a failed panelled wall is nearly always a substrate problem (damp, powdery or uneven wall) or a fitting shortcut, not a panel defect.
- Never panel over a wall that is still damp: fix the water source, let the wall dry, then panel. Sealing moisture behind a waterproof panel is the most common cause of failed installations.
- Leave a 2-3 mm expansion allowance on runs over 8 ft; PVC and WPC move with temperature.
- Cleaning: soft damp cloth and mild soap, along the flute not across it. No abrasives, thinner or acetone.
- Panels can go over sound, flat, dry tiles. 6-year warranty covers warping, swelling and termite damage; installation faults are not material faults.
