Which panels go over tiles and paint most easily
PVC and ACP are the easiest to glue straight over tiles or paint because they are light. Heavier fluted WPC and charcoal panels grip best on a batten or ply grid, which also hides any waviness in the old wall.
How to panel over an existing wall
- Check the wall is dry and structurally sound (no active damp or crumbling plaster).
- Clean and degrease the surface; tiles and kitchen walls especially.
- Sand glossy paint or tiles to break the sheen so adhesive grips.
