Louver panels are long, narrow decorative strips, or panels made to look like a row of them, that give a wall or ceiling a vertical ribbed rhythm of light and shadow. In India they are mostly WPC, charcoal or PVC for interiors, with aluminium (ACP) louvers for exteriors.
A louver panel is a ribbed cladding strip, usually 9.5 ft long, fixed side by side on a wall or ceiling. Choose WPC or charcoal for interiors, flexible louvers for curves and columns, and ACP louvers for exteriors. Flexible WPC louvers start from about ₹300 per sq ft; designer 9.5 ft louver pieces are about ₹3,000 each.
What is a louver panel?
The word comes from louvered shutters: angled slats that let air through and keep rain and glare out. Indoors the airflow job is gone and the look stays. A louver panel today is a decorative cladding element: a batten, or a profiled strip with several battens moulded into it, fixed side by side so the wall reads as a series of vertical lines.
That rhythm is the whole point. Raised faces catch light, recessed grooves hold shadow, and a flat wall suddenly has depth, warmth and direction. Run vertically, louvers make a room feel taller. Run horizontally, they make it feel wider. Bend them around a column and a structural element becomes a feature.
You will hear three words used loosely: louvers (individual battens or narrow strips, usually 9.5 ft or 8 ft long), fluted panels (wider sheets with the grooves moulded in) and slats (the generic term for timber battens). They overlap in look; they differ in width, price and how easily they handle curves.
Types of louver panels by material
Material decides where a louver can go, how it handles moisture and termites, and what it costs. These are the five you will meet in the Indian market:
| Type | What it is | Best for | Interior / exterior | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WPC fluted louvers | Wood plastic composite, rigid, wood-look finishes | TV walls, bedrooms, offices, lobbies | Interior | ₹3,000 per piece |
| Charcoal louvers | Charcoal composite with a decorative finish layer | Dark, rich feature walls, partitions | Interior and covered areas | ₹3,000 per piece |
| Charcoal-PS louvers | Charcoal blended with polystyrene, light and crisp | Wide feature walls, headboards, ceilings | Interior and covered areas | ₹3,000 per piece |
| Flexible WPC louvers | Individual fins on a bendable backing | Curved walls, columns, arches, reception desks | Interior | from ₹300/sq ft |
| ACP (aluminium) louvers | Aluminium composite fins on a frame | Facades, balconies, shop fronts, sun-shading | Exterior and interior | Quoted per project |
Note the units. The three 9.5 ft collections are priced per piece; flexible louvers are priced per sq ft. A per sq ft equivalent for each piece is worked out in the price section below.
WPC louvers
WPC is the most popular louver material for Indian interiors: rigid, wood-like and stable. It is termite, borer and water resistant, which makes it safe for living rooms, bedrooms, offices and humid coastal cities. Fluted WPC louvers are interior products; do not use them on exposed elevations or gates.
Charcoal and charcoal-PS louvers
Charcoal louvers are made from a charcoal composite with a decorative finish on the face. They are moisture and termite resistant and come in deep walnuts, oaks, stone looks and solid colours. Charcoal-PS adds polystyrene for a lighter, crisper piece, so wider faces stay easy to handle. Both are for interiors and covered spaces, not open exteriors.
Flexible louvers
Flexible WPC louvers are individual fins held on a bendable backing, so they wrap columns, curved walls and reception counters that a rigid panel cannot follow. They start from about ₹300 per sq ft. See the range on our flexible louvers page.
ACP louvers for exteriors
When louvers go outside, on a facade, a balcony screen or a shop front, they need to be aluminium. ACP louvers handle sun, rain and heat, carry a 10-year warranty, and are sized and quoted per project because fin depth, spacing and framing depend on the elevation. See aluminium louvers.
Our three designer louver collections
Each collection is a different material and a different profile, so you can match the louver to the room rather than the other way round. All three are 9.5 ft long and priced per piece. The photos are real samples, not renders.
STAVORA
Wide flat battens with small rounded grooves. Calm, architectural lines for large walls and offices.
VENTIQUE
Trapezoidal, chamfered battens with crisp shadow lines. Termite, borer and water resistant.
LUXORA
A smooth wave profile with fine flutes. The 1 ft face covers big walls with fewer joints.

Beyond material, the shape of the profile changes the look more than anything else. Ask to see the cut edge of a sample; it tells you exactly how the wall will read.
Calm and architectural
Wide flat faces with small grooves between them. Reads as clean, quiet panelling and suits large walls and offices.
Sharp shadow lines
Flat crowns with angled sides. The chamfer throws a crisp shadow on each batten, so the wall looks deeply carved.
Soft and tactile
Rounded ridges and shallow scoops with no hard edges. Light rolls across it, which suits bedrooms and backlit walls.
Cross-sections are schematic and not to scale.
Pick the profile for the light in the room: chamfers for drama, flat battens for calm, waves for softness.
Standard louver panel sizes in India
Most rigid louvers in India come in 9.5 ft lengths, which covers a standard floor-to-ceiling height with a small trim allowance. Width varies by design:
| Collection | Material | Length × width | Face area per piece |
|---|---|---|---|
| STAVORA | Charcoal | 9.5 ft × 6 in | 4.75 sq ft |
| VENTIQUE | WPC, 11 mm | 9.5 ft × 5 in | about 3.96 sq ft |
| LUXORA | Charcoal-PS | 9.5 ft × 1 ft | 9.5 sq ft |
| Flexible louvers | WPC | 8 ft lengths | priced per sq ft |
| ACP louvers | Aluminium composite | Made to the elevation | per project |
For ceilings over 9.5 ft, plan a horizontal band, a shadow-gap trim or a feature break rather than butt-jointing two lengths in the middle of the wall.
Where louver panels work
- TV walls. The most common use. Louvers hide cable chases, frame the screen and pair well with a strip of warm LED light at the top or sides.
- Bedrooms. Behind the bed as a full-height headboard, or one accent wall. Wave and flat profiles feel calmer than sharp chamfers here.
- Offices and reception areas. Behind the reception desk, along corridors and in cabins. Flexible louvers wrap curved counters and columns.
- Ceilings. Louvers run across a ceiling to zone a space or hide services. Light charcoal-PS and WPC are easiest to fix overhead.
- Exteriors, with the right grade. Only ACP louvers belong on open facades, balconies and shop fronts. Charcoal suits covered verandas and sit-outs; WPC fluted louvers stay indoors.

Choose louvers
When the wall is the hero of the room, when you need to wrap a column or curve, or when you want the deepest shadow lines and a premium finish.
Choose fluted panels
When you want the ribbed look across a big straight wall at the lowest cost per sq ft and with fewer joints.
Choose plain panels
When you are panelling a whole room, want a quiet background, or need a simple waterproof surface.

Installation note
Rigid louvers are usually fixed with construction adhesive plus concealed clips or pins into a level wall or a plywood backing; flexible louvers need a backing that follows the curve. The wall must be dry, sound and reasonably flat, and the first piece must be dead plumb, because every error repeats across the wall. Budget for adhesive, matching trims and end caps, and labour; our wall panel installation cost guide breaks this down per sq ft, and the charcoal installation guide covers trims and the step-by-step fix for charcoal louvers. We install in major cities only.

WhatsApp +91 93243 69051Louver panel questions, answered
What are louver panels used for?
Louver panels are decorative cladding for walls and ceilings. In India they are most used on TV walls, behind beds, in offices and reception areas, on ceilings and around columns. Aluminium (ACP) louvers are also used on building facades, balconies and shop fronts.
What is the price of louver panels in India?
Flexible WPC louvers start from about ₹300 per sq ft. Our 9.5 ft designer louver collections, STAVORA, VENTIQUE and LUXORA, are ₹3,000 per piece, which works out to approximately ₹316 to ₹758 per sq ft depending on the width of the piece. ACP louvers are quoted per project.
What size are louver panels?
Most rigid louvers are 9.5 ft long. Widths vary by design: STAVORA is 9.5 ft by 6 in, VENTIQUE is 9.5 ft by 5 in and 11 mm thick, and LUXORA is 9.5 ft by 1 ft. Flexible louvers come in 8 ft lengths, and ACP louvers are made to suit the elevation.
Which louver material is best?
For interiors, WPC louvers are the all-rounder: rigid, wood-like and termite, borer and water resistant. Charcoal and charcoal-PS louvers give richer finishes and wider pieces. Flexible louvers are best for curves and columns. For any open exterior, use ACP louvers.
Can louvers be used outdoors?
Only the right grade. ACP (aluminium) louvers are made for exteriors such as facades, balconies and shop fronts. Charcoal louvers suit covered verandas and sit-outs. WPC fluted louvers are interior products and should not be used on exposed walls or gates.
What is the difference between louvers and fluted panels?
Louvers are narrow individual battens or strips, often 9.5 ft long, that give the deepest shadow lines and, in flexible form, can wrap curves. Fluted panels are wider sheets with grooves moulded in; they cost less per sq ft, from about ₹99, and suit large straight walls.
